Good Grades Give a Good Life at Home

If you want to get good grades, you are totally normal. You are also normal if you want to do that in the most efficient way possible.

At the highest level of thinking and living, getting good grades requires the same level of internal fortitude that is required to be successful in any endeavor of life. To be successful for the long term you need to possess certain character traits.

  • motivation to succeed
  • commitment to the task
  • patience to do the right things at the right time
  • persistence to see the project to completion

One other concept is important. You must absolutely understand that you cannot necessarily tie the achievement of excellence to the emotion of enjoyment. Sometimes we have to do well in things we might not really enjoy doing.

There are common habits of students who actually learn stuff and get good grades in the process.

  • they listen in class
  • they do homework
  • they ask questions
  • they study for tests

For some students these things come easy, but for others, it’s a struggle. If you are one of those who struggle in getting good grades, there are ways to solve that problem.

  • form study groups with friends
  • hire a tutor
  • get extra help from your teacher
  • find online review sites
  • You could also follow a good study guide for your more difficult courses.

Another great system is to take a parallel online course with your school subject. This method works especially well with AP courses and is less expensive than hiring a personal tutor.

You can also benefit from reading a good motivational and nuts-and-bolts book teaching you how to study and learn in an efficient manner.

Most importantly, you need to realize that in order to get good grades, your mind matters most. By that, I do not mean you have to be a genuis. You have to decide to do the right things at the right time. It ultimately comes down to your desire and motivtion to become the student you know you are capable of being.

Enjoy the trip.
