Activities

An Active Life is a Good Life

Perhaps you remember when activities used to be called hobbies. Unfortunately, no matter what we call them, many younger people have replace doing active things with texting and video games. There’s nothing wrong with that, unless it’s in excess and at the exclusion of other good stuff to be actually doing.

Many activities develop physical skill and mental dexterity along with increasing your hand-eye coordination. Building and flying a radio-controlled airplane can do that for you. PLus, you get the opportunity to join with others in flying your creation in competitive events or simply an enjoyable community fly-in.

Enjoyable activites such as photography and art have developed into profitable businesses, even while retaining the joy of creativity.

One really positive aspect of many things that are out there for us to do can be started at any age. Whether you are eight or eighty, you can take great photos or fly that cool looking plane.

Age Doesn’t Matter

Many of these hobby/activity events are great for families to participate in together. A great hike, the adventure of geochaching, grandfather and granddaughter shooting off rockets together… the ideas are endless and provide long-lasting memories.

Finally, we invite you to explore the activities we have highlighted, but don’t restrict your investigation to the things we recommend. Let your imagination run rampant. Find something that involves action and enjoyment. Learn to live a good life by putting down the cell phone and getting out there and doing stuff.
