Energy Drinks

When You Need to Get Things Done

I never thought I would use energy drinks to help me get through a task.

That day came, however, when we were on a cross-country trip with our fifth-wheel trailer. Still four hours from our destination, I became rather tired. So tired, in fact, I felt unsafe to drive.

Out of desperation, at the next fuel stop, I bought a bottle of “Five Hour Energy.” Rather apprehensively, I expected some sort of negative reacttion or jittery high.

The result of using the energy drink was a pleasant surprise.

No sudden rush, no jangled nerves. After about ten minutes , I simply didn’t feel tired. Just calm and mentally alert. Honestly, I felt fully able to continue driving safely.

Not even a crash.

Even more negatively, I fully expected a major “crash” as the energy drink wore off. Quite the contrary actually happened. I just went back to the degree of tiredness I was experiencing before I used the drink.

For me, that energy drink worked. Since then I’ve used it a couple of times when I really needed to get things done. In both cases, no extreme high existed, but just a certain calm ability to keep doing the task at hand.

By nature, I am a rather conservative person when it comes to artificial stimulants. I don’t want to become psychologically dependent on any external chemical, even safe energy drinks. Thus, I use them only when absolutely necessary to finish the task I am doing. By moderating the use, I find them extremely beneficial and not changing any aspect of my personality or reaction to my environment.

Be wise, be moderate… be efficient.
